The French and Indian War began as a regional conflict in the Ohio Valley in 1754 but grew into a global conflict known as the Seven Years’ War with the involvement of countries such as Spain and France. Ultimately, Britain would emerge as victorious, forcing France to cede all of its Canadian territory, including Quebec, to Britain following the Treaty of Paris in 1763.
