Abstract
According to Muhammad b. ‘Umar [al-Waqidi)—Ibn Abi al-Zinad-Musa b. ‘Uqbah-Abu Habibah: One day ‘Uthman was preaching to the people when ‘Amr b.al-‘As said, “0 Commander of the Faithful, you have incurred grave dangers, and we have incurred them with you. Repent, and we shall repent.” ‘Uthman turned in the direction of Mecca and raised his arms in supplication. Abu Habibah states: I have never seen more men and women weeping than on that day.
