Abstract

Plutarch’s “Life of Alexander” is part of his ambitious work, Parallel Lives. Written in the early second century CE, this biography chronicles the life of Alexander the Great from his birth in 356 BCE to his death in 323 BCE. Plutarch, a renowned Greek biographer and essayist, is best known for his series of paired biographies of famous Greek and Roman men, designed to highlight their common moral virtues.
