Abstract

The Thirteenth, Fourteenth, and Fifteenth Amendments were part of the rebuilding of the United States following the Civil War. These Reconstruction Amendments were integral to extending rights to African Americans, codifying laws that ensured African Americans the same rights as white Americans by preventing discrimination and denial of rights based on race.
