Abstract
UN Security Council Resolution 242 was passed on November 22, 1967, in response to the Six-Day War. The purpose of the UN resolution was to outline a process for achieving peace in the Middle East testablishing secure territorial boundaries. UN Security Council Resolution 242 served as a blueprint for Middle East peace efforts throughout the decades that followed.
