Abstract

Travels in Asia and Africa (The Rihla) is the diary of Ibn Battuta, a fourteenth-century Moroccan who became the most widely traveled man in the world. Although he has less name recognition among Westerners than his contemporary, the Italian explorer Marco Polo, his extensive travels throughout Africa and Asia took him farther than anyone had journeyed up to that time.
