Abstract

The Myers family were no strangers to bigotry and Jim Crow laws, but they met with a particularly hateful reception upon moving to 43 Deepgreen Lane, Dogwood Hollow, Levittown, Pennsylvania, on August 13, 1957. A move they were hesitant but optimistic to make turned into one of doubt and fear for their childrens safety, temporarily dividing a community but permanently uniting and strengthening a family.
