Abstract

The American Revolution (1763–1783) would change the Atlantic world’s political, cultural, and economic landscape. The road to the revolution was complicated and brought the thirteen British colonies together in ways that would have been unexpected. In the years before the Revolution, many colonists thought it would take an extraordinary feat to unite the colonies.
