U.S. War Department: Pamphlet onCensorship
Overview
Abstract

As Americans entered World War II, new soldiers had to be trained in all aspects of military service. Much of the training focused on combat tasks, such as using weapons. Some of the training had to address how these new soldiers should discuss their experiences when communicating back home with their families. This pamphlet told new members of the military what they could tell their families and how to safeguard military secrets. It gave practical examples and made clear why the rules were written.
