Abstract

Understand the origins and long-term implications of globalism as a political, economic, and cultural phenomenon. The end of the Cold War was felt as a breath of fresh air by many Europeans for whom the experience of over four decades of anxiety, ideological conflict, and the persistent threat of nuclear destruction became intolerable.
