Abstract

At the end of February 1994 the Clinton administration’s Office of National AIDS Policy partnered with a nonprofit group, the Balm in Gilead, for a conference called the African American Clergy Summit on HIV/AIDS. Fifty-six clergy members from different denominations met at the White House and signed the African American Clergy’s Declaration of War on HIV/AIDS.
