Abstract

Following the end of World War II, America went through a significant social change, as the experiences of the war redefined the new racial norm in the United States. Segregation remained a part of America's military forces. However, racial norms had started to change as a result of the experiences of those who had not only fought overseas, but also worked in the defense factories at home, where Blacks and whites worked alongside one another.
