During the summer of 1983, the Los Angeles Times published a series on Southern California’s Latino community. The series was created by Latino writers, editors, and photographers who worked to tell the story of the history, art, politics, family unit, religion, labor, education, success, and struggles of the Latino community. Following its publication, the series won the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service.
