Abstract

Award-winning poet Denice Frohman has won a reputation for her powerful works that represent her status as a queer person and a Hispanic American. Frohman, who is of both Puerto Rican and Jewish ancestry, earned a master’s degree in education at Drexel University. She then worked for the Philly Youth Poetry Movement as a director and organizer. Her work as a poet and performer was recognized in 2013 when she won both the Women of the World Poetry Slam Championship and the Southern Fried Poetry Slam Championship. She is also a recording artist whose work appears in the album Feels Like Home.
