Abstract

In her 2007 book Los Republicanos: Why Hispanics and Republicans Need Each Other, Leslie Sanchez predicts shifts in Hispanic voting that could impact the future of American politics. Los Republicanos uses a historical lens to examine possible future voting tendencies. The ten-chapter book aims to debunk the “cultural and political myths,” as the author describes them, surrounding “Hispanics and Republicans alike.” Leslie Sanchez has served in political and government positions and as a political pundit throughout her career. In addition, she has worked as the deputy press secretary for the Republican National Committee (RNC) and with the George W. Bush White House Initiative on Hispanic Education.
