Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico delivered an address on the final day of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) held in in August 2008, which culminated in Senator Barack Obama of Illinois accepting the Democratic Party’s nomination to run for president of the United States. Richardson himself had sought the be the nominee before dropping out early in 2008 when he failed to do well in the initial round of primary and caucus contests.
