Abstract

Black Death: one of the most devastating pandemics in world history that peaked in Europe from 1348 to 1350. Spreading along the Silk Route the plague killed an estimated 30–50 percent of Europe’s population. The plague contributed to outbursts of religious fanaticism, population decline, and peasant uprisings.
