Abstract

The unit introduction asked you to answer the following questions: 1. Why did the United States originally try to stay out of World War II? What eventually led to its involvement? Create an annotated timeline that begins in the late 1930s and ends in 1945 to help you get a better overview. 2. How did the war aoect the U.S. home front during and after the war? A cause-and-eoect concept map may be helpful here. 3. Make a prediction. Why is World War II considered a turning point in the nation’s history? (Hint: Try to explain how and why the United States became a world superpower after the war. Consider here which countries were left weakened the most after the end of World War II.)
