Abstract
The Christianization of the European peoples—that is, their conversion from pagan, pre-Christian beliefs to a form of Christianity accepted as “orthodox,” or correct—was long and complex. Conversion was not an event as such, but rather an ongoing process taking decades and—in some cases—centuries to be complete.
