Abstract

A key figure in the conversion of Europe during the early medieval age was Saint Boniface. Boniface was born Winfrid in Wessex, one of the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms of Britain, around 680 and died in 754. During his life he was responsible for leading the mission to spread Christianity within the Frankish kingdom. In the eighth century, the Frankish kingdom covered parts of what is modern-day France and Germany.
